Follow the Trojan Baseball Team at NAIA Baseball Championship Opening Round

NAIA 2012 World SeriesFollow the Dakota State baseball team as they travel to Kansas to compete in the NAIA Baseball Championship Opening Round.  The Trojans qualified for the national tournament after earning runner-up honor at the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Baseball Postseason Tournament on May 2-5 in San Marcos, Calif.

The five-team double elimination tournament begins on Thursday (May 10) and runs through Saturday (May 12) with the second championship game, if necessary, on Monday (May 14).  The winner of the Hutchinson bracket will advance to the Avista-World Series, which is held on May 25-June 1 in Lewiston, Idaho.

Lee earns NAIA Champions of Character honor at NAIA Nationals banquet

The Trojans just completed their day with practices and attending the banquet.  Andy Lee was nominated for the NAIA National Champions of Character award.  Congratulations Andy!

11:55 p.m. - Arrived safely in Hutchinson, Kan.  The Trojan baseball team will practice tomorrow afternoon at Hobart-Detter Field.  There will be a banquet tomorrow night to welcome all five teams in the Hutchinson bracket of the NAIA Baseball National Championship opening round.  A preview/quick facts of the five teams in the bracket will be posted tomorrow.  Stay tuned for more updates with the DSU Baseball team in Hutchinson, Kan.!
