THIS WEEK:  The Dakota State University Lady T's basketball team (11-19 overall record, 3-5 North Star Athletic Association conference record) kicks off their postseason play on Thursday evening at DSU Fieldhouse.  The Lady T's welcome Presentation (S.D.) (5-21, 0-8 NSAA) with a tip-off starting at 7 p.m. in Madison, S.D. 

LADY T'S FINISH TIE FOR THIRD IN NORTH STAR:  The Lady T's completed their first season in the North Star Athletic Association season with a tie for third-place with Valley City State (N.D.).  DSU and VCSU were tied for third with a 3-5 conference record.  The Vikings own a tiebreaker over the Lady T's for the postseason tournament, based on NAIA Division II non-conference record.   Mayville State (N.D.) and Jamestown (N.D.) shared the inaugural North Star Athletic Association regular-season title with a 7-1 record.  The Saints finished fifth with a 0-8 record.

NSAA POSTSEASON TOURNAMENT:  Mayville State (22-3, 7-1 NSAA) is the top seed for the upcoming North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Women's Basketball Conference Postseason Tournament.  The single-elimination tournament kicks off on Thursday night, Feb. 27  with a quarterfinal game between No. 5 seed Presentation and No. 4 seed Dakota State.  The Comets will host the winner of Thursday's quarterfinal game on Sunday afternoon in Mayville, N.D.  Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. at Lewy Lee Fieldhouse in Mayville, N.D.  The other semifinal match-up features No. 3 seed Valley City State (N.D.) visiting No. 2 seed Jamestown (N.D.).  The game is set for 3 p.m. at the Civic Center in Jamestown, N.D.   The semifinals winners will advance to the first-ever NSAA championship game on Tuesday, March 4 at the highest remaining seed.  Tip-off for the championship game is set for 7 p.m.

LADY T'S FALL SHORT TO A PAIR OF 'TOP 25' TEAMS:  Dakota State faced a pair of 'Top 25' teams last week in NSAA conference play.  The Lady T's earned the biggest lead of the first-half at 22-15 with less than 11 minutes remaining at No. 12 Mayville State (N.D.) on Feb. 19.  There were a total of 14 lead changes and three ties in the first twenty minutes of the game as the Comets overtook a 42-36 halftime lead.  DSU could get no closer than 68-62 with 9:18 left as Mayville State closed the game with a 24-6 run in 92-68 victory.  On Saturday, Feb. 22, the Lady T's jumped to a 37-23 lead over third-ranked team in the nation—Jamestown (N.D.) at the DSU Fieldhouse.  The Jimmies rallied back in the second-half and forced the game into overtime.  Dakota State felt short for an upset bid as UJ held to a 90-82 victory.

DSU VS. SAINTS SEASON SERIES:  The Lady T's had won all three meetings by double digits this season versus Presentation (S.D.).  Dakota State won the season opener in a non-conference game at the Strode Center in Aberdeen, S.D. by the score of 71-60 on Oct. 30.  The Lady T's defeated the Saints in both teams' NSAA first-ever conference game at DSU Fieldhouse by the score of 96-65.  DSU recorded their first NSAA conference road victory at Presentation (S.D.) on Feb. 8 by the score of 80-66.

LEADING THE NATION IN BLOCKS:  Dakota State and Alyson Drooger each continues to hold the nation's leader in the blocks categories.  The Lady T's lead the nation with an average of 6.4 blocks per game and racked up a total of 191 blocked shots.  Alyson Drooger is the nation's leader with 4.4 blocks per game and 133 total blocks this season (single-season DSU school record for most blocks).

LADY T'S OFFENSE RANKS:  According to the NAIA-DakStats statistical website as of Tuesday, Dakota State ranks 33rd in the nation in total assists with 428 assists.  The Lady T's are 43rd in the nation in field goal percentage (41.7) and 44th in assists per game with an average of 14.3 assists per game.  DSU ranks 44th in the nation in free-throw percentage (70.3 percent).

LAST TIME OUT:  Dakota State dropped a pair of games against NAIA Division II Women's Basketball 'Top 25' teams last week.  The Lady T's could not overcome Mayville State's late run as the Comets secured a 92-68 victory on Feb. 19.  DSU fell short for an upset bid with No. 3 Jamestown (N.D.) as the Jimmies prevailed in overtime by the score of 90-82 at the DSU Fieldhouse on Feb. 22 in both teams' regular-season finale.  Presentation (S.D.) snapped their seven-game losing skid with an 81-62 non-conference victory at Trinity Bible (N.D.) on Feb. 18.  The Saints fell to Valley City State (N.D.) in the regular-season finale in Valley City, N.D. by the score of 74-46 on Feb. 22.

DSU SENIORS CLASS:  The Lady T's senior class had accumulated a total of 3,884 points during their career at Dakota State.  Kylie Westover is currently the fourth all-time scoring with 1,385 points.  Cassie Jacobsen tallied a total of 832 points.  Courtney Hamblin had recorded 622 points and Julie Munson had 610 points.  Alyson Drooger scored 435 points during her two-year career with the Lady T's.  Westover, Jacobsen, Hamblin and Munson each were with the Dakota State Lady T's basketball team for four years.

WESTOVER 3-POINTERS RECORD:  Kylie Westover had drained a season-best 68 3-pointers this season for the Lady T's.  Her 68 3-pointers in a single season is the third most 3-pointers in a single season in the Lady T's record book.  Westover had accumulated a total of 234 3-pointers during her 4-year career at Dakota State, the second-most in the DSU Lady T's basketball record book.

QUICK LEADERS:  Kylie Westover leads the Lady T's with 13.6 points per game and shoots 37.3 percent from the field.  She ranks 34th in the nation in total 3-point field goals made with 68 and 44th in 3-point field goal made per game (2.3).  Alyson Drooger leads DSU in three different categories—5.8 rebounds (173 total rebounds), 2.3 assists (70 total assists) and 4.4 blocks (133 total blocks) per game.  BreeAna Olson records 55 steals this season and averages 1.8 steals per game.
