About DSU Athletics
Twelve teams represent Dakota State University Trojans in intercollegiate athletic competition. Women's teams participate in volleyball, basketball, indoor and outdoor track, cross country, and softball. Men's teams compete in football, basketball, cross country, baseball, indoor and outdoor track.
DSU is committed to providing equal opportunities for participation in intercollegiate athletics. Any student, current or prospective, who is interested in participating in the athletic program at DSU, may initiate contact with the Department of Athletics by completing the Interests and Abilities Form.
Dakota State University maintains membership in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.). The athletic program is affiliated nationally with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Qualifying teams and individuals compete in post-season events sponsored by each of these organizations.
Freshmen are eligible for varsity participation in all sports. Inquiries concerning athletic programs and athletic scholarships should be directed to the Director of Athletics. Students should also contact the Director of Athletics for information or clarification of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics eligibility regulations.
