MADISON, S.D. - The Trojan softball team hosted Minot State in the DAC four-game series at the Thue Softball Complex Saturday and Sunday. Minot State swept the Trojans 6-1 and 11-0 on Saturday. On Sunday, the Beavers defeated DSU 6-0 and 8-4.
Dakota State dropped their overall record to 6-18 and 2-10 in the DAC conference. Minot State continued their winning streak to seven games and raised their overall record to 16-10 and 7-3 in the DAC.
Game One - Box Score
Minot State 6, Dakota State 1
The Beavers recorded two doubles from Lindsey Landles and Brittany Bartel to open up a 3-0 early lead in the top of the first inning.
DSU's Danielle Vitale hit an RBI double to score Amanda Stevenson to cut the Beavers' lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the second inning.
Minot State scored three times in the final inning.
Vitale went 1-for-3 with a double and a RBI for Dakota State. Ashley Souphimdara had a single. Amanda Stevenson swiped three bases.
For Minot State, Molly Lundeen had two RBIs. Janessa Penner scored twice.
Ashton Lansink suffered the loss for the Trojans. She tossed a complete game and allowed six runs on seven hits.
Mandy Greenberg recorded the victory for Minot State. She pitched six innings and limited the Trojans to one run on two hits. She struck out nine batters. Tiffany Friesen pitched one shutout inning in relief.

Minot State 11, Dakota State 0 (5 innings)
Minot State scored 11 runs in the first four innings of the game. The Trojans were unable to score as the game ended in the fifth inning due to an 10-run mercy rule.
Souphimdara, Vitale and Jessica McLane each had a single for the Trojans. Souphimdara and Laura Shanfelt each recorded a stolen base.
For the Beavers, Deanna Mitchell went 1-for-2 with a triple and three RBIs. Penner went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Lundeen was perfect behind the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Shannon Murray added two singles.
Lansink took the loss for Dakota State. She pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed seven runs on 10 hits. Maddie Willers tossed 2 1/3 innings in relief. She gave up four runs on four hits.
Greenberg recorded the victory for Minot State. She pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed two hits. She struck out four batters. Mitchell tossed 1 2/3 innings in relief and gave up one hit.

Minot State 6, Dakota State 0
After two scoreless innings, Minot State scored twice in the top of the third inning. Penner hit a ground out RBI to score Murray and Lindsay Landles added a RBI double to score Mitchell for the Beavers' 2-0 lead.
Minot State added a run in the fourth inning and extended their lead to 6-0 in the top of the fifth inning.
Ashley Stevenson went 2-for-3 for the Trojans. Vitale had a double. Souphimdara, Peterson and Jayna Ackerman each had a single. Soupimdara and Leslie Neiman each recorded a stolen base.
Landles and Tiffany Friesen recorded a double for Minot State. Landles went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Friesen had two RBIs. Bartel recorded a triple, a run scored and a RBI. Mitchell was 3-for-4 with a run scored.
Lansink suffered the loss for DSU. She pitched a complete game and gave up six runs (four unearned) on 10 hits.
Greenberg (12-7) recorded the win for the Beavers. She tossed 4 2/3 innings and allowed two hits. She struck out six batters. Friesen pitched 2 1/3 innings in relief and gave up four hits.
DSU left eight runners on base. Minot State had four runners left on base.
Game Two - Box Score
Minot State 8, Dakota State 4
Kyla Thiesen hit a two-RBI single to score Friesen and Lundeen to give the Beavers 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning.
In the top of the third inning, Landles hit a RBI sacrifice fly to score Mitchell and Bartell added a RBI single to score Friesen to extend Minot States lead to 4-0.
Kelsie Peterson hit an RBI single to score Ashley Stevenson to break up the Trojans scoring drought in the bottom of the third inning. The Trojans cut Minot State's lead to 4-1.
Each team scored three times in the sixth inning. Minot State added an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning.
Both teams combined for 36 hits in the game 19 hits by Minot State and 17 by Dakota State.
The Trojans left 15 runners on bases. The Beavers had 10 runners left on base.
Ashley Stevenson went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored for Dakota State. Souphimdara had four singles. Vitale and Peterson each had a double, a single and two RBIs. Neiman added two singles. Ackerman, Brittany Haiar and McLane each had a single.
For Minot State, Mitchell went 4-for-5 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs. Penner recorded three singles. Lundeen went perfect behind the plate, going 4-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
Lansink (3-11) took the loss for the Trojans. She tossed 5 2/3 innings and allowed seven runs (four unearned) on 16 hits. Willers pitched 1 1/3 innings in relief and gave up one run on three hits.
Greenberg started for Minot State.She pitched two innings and allowed four hits. Friesen (2-3) recorded the victory. She tossed five innings and allowed four runs on 13 hits and struck out four batters.
Dakota State will step aside of their DAC conference schedule on Tuesday.The Trojans will travel to Vermillion, S.D. for a doubleheader with NCAA Division I University of South Dakota. The first game is slated to start at 5 p.m.
