With two weeks remaining in the regular outdoor track and field season, the Dakota State University will be competing in two different meets this weekend. Four DSU male athletes will be racing in the Drake Relays, which will take place on Thursday through Saturday. Most of the outdoor track and field teams will be competing in the University of Sioux Falls Invitational on Friday.
Anthony Drealan, Andy Coy, Thomas Kjerengtroen and Jared Mengenhausen will be racing in one of the largest meets in the nation in Des Moines, Iowa.
Drealan will be running in the men's 10,000-meter run on Thursday. On Saturday, all four DSU men's runners will be running in the distance medley relay.
Athletes must register a qualifying time in order to take part of the Drake Relays.
The majority of DSU track teams will be participating in the USF Invitational on Friday afternoon. It was originally scheduled for Saturday, but it was pushed back a day earlier to avoid the forecast rain and cooler weather.
The meet will be held at the Lillibridge Track and Field Complex located at the USF Sanford Complex at 69th St. and Cliff Ave.
The first running event is slated to start at 2:30 p.m. with the 4 x 100-meter relay. The hammer throw and javelin will start at 3:30 p.m.
