WICHITA, Kan. - The Dakota State University softball team went 2-1 on the first day of McPherson (Kan.) Tournament Friday.  The tournament concludes on Saturday.

DSU kicked off the tournament with a 7-3 victory over host-team McPherson (Kan.).  It was the fifth straight victory for the Trojans.

In the second game of the day, Bethel (Kan.) snapped DSU's five-game winning streak by the score of 6-0.

The Trojans bounced back in the final game of the day with a 9-6 victory over Sterling (Kan.).

DSU won their sixth game in the last seven games to improve their overall record to 6-3.

Dakota State continues their action Saturday as they play a pair of games in the McPherson (Kan.) Tournament.  The Trojans play Bethany (Kan.) at 10 a.m. and Kansas Wesleyan at 12 noon in Wichita, Kan.
