The Dakota State University volleyball team will play their final regular season match on Wednesday night. The Trojans host their DAC's traveling partner Mayville State in the last DAC conference match at DSU Fieldhouse. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. Seniors will be recognized prior to the match.
Four DSU seniors will play their last match at DSU Fieldhouse. The seniors are Margie Anthony, Erica Gall, Amy Pheneger and Ashley Schulte.
Dakota State is 11-20 overall and 4-9 in the DAC conference (6th place). The Trojans are currently on a four-straight losing streak. Mayville State is 4-22 overall and 2-11 in the conference (8th place).
The Trojans won the first meeting from Mayville State on the road on Oct. 6. The Trojans defeated the Comets in a five-set thriller by the scores of 22-25, 25-22, 12-25, 25-12 and 15-9. DSU recorded 55 kills and 93 digs in the match.
Jamestown and Dickinson State are tied for first place in the DAC conference with a 12-1 record. The Jimmies owns a tiebreaker over the Blue Hawks for No. 1 seed. Minot State clinched third-seed for the conference postseason. Black Hills State is fourth with a 6-7 conference record, followed by Valley City State fifth with a 5-8 record.
DSU is battling for the seeding in the DAC postseason tournament, which begins on Saturday. If the Trojans defeated the Comets and Valley City State loses to Jamestown Wednesday, then the Trojans will be the fifth-seed. SD School of Mines will be the seventh-see in the DAC Volleyball Postseason tournament, while Mayville State will be the No. 8 seed.
