The Dakota State University volleyball team will play their final tournament on Friday and Saturday. The Trojans compete in the Hastings College/Quality Inn Classic held at the Osborne Family Sports Complex in Hastings, Neb.
Dakota State will play five matches in the two-day event, including four opponents from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). On Friday, the Trojans will face Midland Lutheran at 1 p.m., No. 5 Northwestern (Iowa) at 5 p.m. and Bethany (Kan.) at 7 p.m. DSU defeated the Warriors in the Grand View (Iowa) tournament in five sets on Aug. 27. Northwestern swept DSU on Sept. 3 in the University of Sioux Falls Volleyball Classic.
On Saturday, the Trojans face the host team Hastings at 1 p.m. DSU concludes the classic versus Concordia (Neb.) at 3 p.m.
The first Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) came out on Sept. 6. Dakota State ranks fifth. Jamestown is first, followed by Black Hills State second, Dickinson State third and South Dakota School of Mines fourth. There is no team in the DAC that have a current overall record above .500 as of Sept. 8.
