MADISON, S.D. - Nationally-ranked Jamestown (N.D.) used a 19-3 run mid-way in the first-half to open a double-digit lead Saturday afternoon over Dakota State (S.D.) at the DSU Fieldhouse.  The Lady T's trimmed their deficit to single-digit in the second-half, but the Jimmies held on to an 82-70 victory.

Dakota State dropped their overall record to 6-16 and winless in five Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) conference games.  Jamestown, No. 15 in the latest NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National poll, raised their overall record to 21-4 and 5-2 in the A.I.I.

The Lady T's and Jimmies went through one tie and five lead changes in the first five minutes of the game.

At 11-10, Jamestown built a 17-point lead in a span of nearly seven minutes (30-13 with 6:17 remaining in the first-half).

JC maintained their double-digit lead with a 44-21 halftime lead.

The Jimmies shot 44.7 percent from the field (17-for-38) in the first twenty minutes of the game.  The Lady T's were held to 32 percent shooting from the field (8-for-25) in the first-half.

Jamestown extended to their largest lead of the game (25 points) at 49-25 with 17:25 remaining in the game.

The Lady T's mounted a rally with a 24-9 scoring surge to trim JC's lead to 68-59 with 4:06 left.

The Jimmies answered back and maintained their double-digit lead for the rest of the game.

DSU outscored JC 49-38 in the second-half.

Cassie Jacobsen scored 17 points for the Lady T's.  Kylie Westover added 15 points.  Courtney Hulstein and Jayda Swenson each scored eight points off the bench.

Courtney Hamblin grabbed six rebounds for DSU.  Hamblin and Hulstein each dished out three assists.

Kayla Roemmich and Carly Jensen each had 14 points for the Jimmies.  Hannah Steele had a double-double of 11 points and produced 12 assists.  Megan Pold added 12 points.

Bridget Schuneman earned nine rebounds for JC.  Amber Ramlo and Roemmich each added eight rebounds.

Jamestown shot 45.5 percent overall from the field (30-for-66) compared to DSU 41.8 percent (23-for-55).  The Jimmies were 6-for-18 (33.3 percent) from the 3-point range, while the Lady T's were 2-for-13 (15.4 percent) from the 3-point line.

Dakota State went to the free-throw line 32 times, converting 22 free-throws (68.8 percent).  The Lady T's were 17-for-23 from the free-throw line in the second-half (73.9 percent).  JC made 16 free-throws in 27 attempts (59.3 percent).

Jamestown outrebounded the Lady T's 45-35.

The Jimmies' bench outscored DSU's bench 43-21.

Both teams will meet for the third meeting of the season on Feb. 13 in Jamestown.  The Jimmies had won the last 10 meetings with DSU.

Dakota State plays their final home regular-season game on Wednesday night.  The Lady T's welcome another nationally-ranked team - No. 19 Mayville State (N.D.) - with a tip-off starting at 5:30 p.m.  Fans are encouraged to wear blue clothing/apparel as part of 'Blue-Out Night' to raise cancer awareness.  Seniors will be recognized after the conclusion of the women's game at DSU Fieldhouse.
