Women's Basketball - Thu, Feb. 2, 2012

MADISON, S.D. - Courtney Hamblin of Dakota State University women's basketball team has earned an academic award for her success in academics at DSU.

The CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) has selected Hamblin to its Academic All-District 6 College Division team, released Thursday.  To be nominated to the CoSIDA Academic All-District ballot, the student-athlete needs to have at least 3.2 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale and must be at least sophomore in eligibility.  A group of sports information directors from all over the United States vote for the nominees on the ballot.

Hamblin is a sophomore Biology major at Dakota State University.

Courtney is the daughter of Mike and Helen Hamblin of Rangiora, New Zealand.

Dakota State concludes their current three-game home stand Saturday night.  The Trojans welcome their in-state rival University of Sioux Falls at DSU Fieldhouse.  Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
