Dakota State University head coach Joe Reints is excited to announce the signing of Katy Pillar to join the Trojan women's basketball program.
Pillar is a standout from Sioux Falls O'Gorman High School. She was coached under DSU alumnus Kent Kolsrud. The Knights captured a second-place finish at the 2011 Class 'AA' State Girls' Basketball Tournament last March.
Pillar averaged 6.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in her senior season for the Knights. She shot 47 percent from the field. She recorded 19 assists and 14 steals.
"Katy is a tremendous athlete that will have the ability to contribute early in her career at Dakota State," said Reints. "She is a strong post player that has range past the 3-point line. She is an excellent rebounder and an excellent student. Katy played on one of the best high school teams in the state this past year and we look forward to her bringing that winning attitude to DSU!"
Katy is the daughter of Joe and Diane Pillar of Sioux Falls, S.D.
