Box Score vs. Trinity Bible

MADISON, S.D. - The Dakota State University women's basketball team played their final home regular season game Tuesday night.  The Trojans hosted Trinity Bible in a non-conference action at the DSU Fieldhouse.  DSU recorded its most points this season as the Trojans defeated the Lions 95-32.

The Trojans raised their overall record to 10-15.  Trinity Bible dropped to 4-20.

Dakota State opened with a 14-4 run and raced to a 56-19 halftime lead.  The Trojans shot 23-for-45 from the field (51.1 percent) in the first-half compared to the Lions' 8-for-25 (32 percent).

The Trojans outscored the Lions 39-13 in the second half.  It was the lowest point allowed by the Trojans this season.

All Trojan players scored at least six points in the game.  Donna Lavea shot 11-for-14 from the field for 22 points in 17 minutes.  Ellesse Washington scored 10 points and stole the ball four times.  Alyssa Kirk added 10 points and dished out five assists.  Phylicia Hoffman had nine points.  Angela Green had eight points and grabbed nine rebounds.  She had two blocked shots.  Allegra Kohley scored eight points and gathered 10 rebounds.  Katie Bourk netted eight points and dished out four assists.  She stole the ball four times.  Yui Onodera had five assists.

Shianne Montgomery had 10 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Lions.  Chelsey Eng had nine points.  Quimby Handy had nine rebounds.

The Trojans forced the Lions to 33 turnovers in the game.  DSU had 14.  The Trojans outscored the Lions 45-6 in points off turnovers.

DSU scored 60 points int the paint compared to the Lions' 18.  The Trojans held Trinity Bible's bench scoreless.

The Trojans shot 53.3 percent from the field (40-for-75) compared to the Lions' 28.6 percent (14-for-49).

It was Parents/Senior night for Dakota State.  Kirk, Washington and Lavea played their final career home games at DSU Fieldhouse.

Dakota State will play their final weekend of DAC conference play on the road.  The Trojans will visit Valley City State on Friday night at 5:30 p.m.  On Saturday, DSU will face No. 10 Jamestown at 4 p.m.
