MADISON, S.D. - Alex Glover joined the Dakota State University track & field coaching staff as he was named the throwing coach. He is also the defensive line coach for the Trojan football team.
Prior coming to Dakota State, Glover was the offensive coordinator and assistant throwing coach at his high school alma mater in Elkton, S.D. for the last three years. He was an All-Conference, All-State and All-Register defensive end for Elkton High School. He was a three-time state track qualifier in discus.
Glover continued his education at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D. where he earned his bachelor's degree in Sports Management. He was a starter at tight end position as a freshman, helping DWU to their best record since 1992. He was an integral member of the DWU football team that recorded its first winning campaign in the Great Plains Athletic Conference in 2008 with a 7-3 record and a No. 23 ranking in the final NAIA Football Coaches' poll. DWU was honored as the South Dakota Sportswriter's Association 2008 Men's College Team-of-the-Year.
Glover also competed with DWU's track & field program as he was involved with throws for two seasons.
Alex and his wife Kaitlyn (from Pierce, Neb. and former thrower at DWU) have two children - Leila (3 years old) and a newborn baby Naomi (born on July 17).
