SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. - Dakota State University assistant coach Anthony Drealan is excited to announce the signing of Michael Carson of South Sioux City (Neb.) High School.  He will join the Trojan cross country team this coming fall and track team next winter and spring.

Carson qualified for four straight Nebraska State Cross Country Championship meet during his stellar career at South Sioux City High School.  He finished 25th overall at the 2012 Class 'B' Nebraska Cross Country Championships.

He clocked his personal best time of seventeen minutes and 21 seconds in 5,000-meter course.

In track, Carson posted his personal bests of four minutes and 45 seconds in the 1600-meter run.  He recorded a personal best time of 10:24 in the 3200-meter track event. 

Carson is also an honor roll student and an accomplished member of the South Sioux City High School swimming team.  He received the Nebraska Believers and Achievers award.  Carson is in the top 5 percent of his class for academic success.

Michael is the son of Tom and Tammy Carson.  He plans to study Computer and Network Security at Dakota State University.
