MADISON, S.D. - The Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) has selected Dakota State's Andy Coy as its Male Athlete of the Week honor, announced on Monday morning.

Coy, a senior from Hill City, S.D., finished as the runner-up in the 1000-meters race at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Nationals on March 2.  He won his semifinals heat in a time of two minutes and 28.25 seconds, before finishing second in the finals with a time of 2:28.00.  Coy was just .07 seconds short of claiming the title.

Coy earned his fourth straight NAIA Indoor Track & Field All-American honor and his sixth overall NAIA All-American status in his stellar track career at Dakota State.

Andy is the son of Rusty and Cindy Coy.  He is majoring in Biology at Dakota State University.
