AMES, Iowa - Two Dakota State University men's indoor track and field athletes competed in the Iowa State Open Friday. The meet was held at the Harry Hoak Track in the Lied Center that featured numerous schools from all levels.
Ryan Gimbel (junior - Hill City, Iowa) was the top NAIA place finish in the men's weight throw. He threw a measurement of 48 feet and 8.25 inches for a 10th-place finish. The men's weight throw featured 31 throwers.
Stacey Berg clocked a time of 23.47 seconds in the men's 200-meter dash. He finished 64th out of 106 runners in the event.
Dakota State continues their action at the Iowa State Open Saturday (tomorrow).
The majority of the Trojan track and field teams will compete in the Wildcat Open Saturday, hosted by NCAA Division II Wayne State College. The meet will be held at the WSC's Recreation Center in Wayne, Neb.
