SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Dakota State University track and field team competed in their first outdoor track and field meet Saturday. The Trojans participated in the windy Vance Butler Invitational that featured numerous NCAA and NAIA schools at the Howard Wood Field.
Andy Coy placed second in the men's 1500-meter run. He ran a time of three minutes and 55.08 seconds, which is an NAIA national qualifying mark. Coy's time is the third best in the DSU school record book.
Two Dakota State's senior runners finished in the top three in the men's 5000-meter run. Anthony Drealan was second with a time of 15:20.29. Devon Berkness finished third in 15:22.95.
Danielle Rowe was fourth in the women's high jump. She leaped with a measurement of five feet and one inch.
Stacey Berg finished fourth in the men's long jump. He jumped with a measurement of 21 feet and .75 inches.
In the women's 100-meter hurdles, Summer Bronson placed 10th with a time of 16.92 seconds. She was 11th in the 400-meter hurdles in 67.93 seconds.

Dakota State returns to action on Saturday. The Trojans compete in the Northwestern (Iowa) Invitational in Orange City, Iowa.
