DAC Conference Meet Results

RAPID CITY, S.D. - The Dakota State University outdoor track and field teams competed in the cold DAC conference championship meet at the O'Harra Stadium Friday. The Trojans captured seven first-places in the meet.

The Trojan men's team finished with 125 points. Dickinson State captured the team title with 290 points followed by Black Hills State with 157 points. South Dakota School of Mines was fourth with 99 points, Jamestown finished fifth with 92 points and Minot State placed sixth with 80 points.

On the women's side, the Yellow Jackets won the team title with 267 points. Jamestown placed second with 223 points followed by Dickinson State with 140 points. Dakota State finished fourth with 98.5 points. Minot State was fifth with 56.5 points and South Dakota School of Mines placed sixth with 51 points.

Tyler Van Peursem claimed the men's 1500-meter and 800-meter runs title. He finished with a time of four minutes and 7.16 seconds in the 1500-meter. He clocked a time of 1:56.77 in the 800-meter run.

Danielle Rowe won the women's high jump. She leaped with a measurement of 1.65 meters. Rowe placed eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.26 seconds.

Donna Lavea threw a shot put measurement of 13.26 meters for a first-place finish.

In the men's 10,000-meter run, Devon Berkness clocked a time of 32 minutes and 15.97 seconds to capture the title.

Brittany Young won the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.18.

The men's 4 x 800-meter relay team (Andy Quenzer, Andrew Manning, Jerad Schlobohm and Cody Foreman) claimed the title with a time of 8:28.21.

Drew Allen placed second in the men's triple jump with a measurement of 13.39 meters. He was sixth in the men's long jump with a measurement of 6.28 meters. Allen placed fourth in the men's 110-meter hurdles in 15.58 seconds.

Andy Coy was second in the men's 1500-meter run in 4:08.57. He placed third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.05.

Amy Pheneger clocked a time of 1:08.15 for a runner-up finish in the women's 400-meter hurdles.

The women's 4 x 400-meter relay (Young, Stephanie Uher, Claire Beck and Karisa Hartje) placed second in 4:08.51.

Matt Fideler finished third in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:48.67. Anthony Drealan was fifth in 9:51.35.

Fideler clocked a time of 1:59.03 for a fourth-place finish in the men's 800-meter run.

Drealan placed third in the men's 5000-meter run with a time of 15:50.31. Fideler was sixth in 16:33.07.

Stephanie Warnke placed third in the women's 800-meter run in 2:26.08. She finished seventh in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:02.91.

Other place finishers are: Stacey Berg (4th in long jump - 6.52 meters), Zach Bakke (7th in long jump - 6.25 meters), Uher (6th in high jump - 1.50 meters and 8th in 400-meter dash - 1:02.05), Allegra Kohley (8th in shot put - 10.25 meters and 8th in javelin - 29.24 meters), Brittany Pearson (4th in discus - 36.79 meters and 8th in hammer throw - 33.61 meters), Shelby Tollefson (8th in long jump - 5.02 meters and 8th in triple jump - 10.00 meters), Foreman (5th in high jump - 1.76 meters and 8th in 400-meter dash - 50.62 seconds), Chancy Cameron (7th in high jump - 1.71 meters), Amber Krogstad (5th in triple jump - 10.68 meters), Summer Bronson (7th in 100 meter hurdles - 16.62 seconds), Laura Porch (7th in 100-meter dash - 13.41 seconds), Lindsay Rook (8th in 100-meter dash - 13.66 seconds), Samantha Warnke (5th in 3000-meter steeplechase - 12:44.27 and 8th in 5000-meter run - 20:08.46), Brandi Gau (7th in 400-meter dash - 1:01.70) and Phillip Carmody (7th place in 400-meter hurdles - 59.17 seconds).

Dakota State will compete in the University of Sioux Falls Last Chance Meet next Saturday, May 15th. It will be the last chance to qualify for NAIA Nationals, which will be held in Marion, Ind. on May 27-29.
