The Dakota State University outdoor track and field teams will compete in the 86th annual Howard Wood Relays Friday and Saturday in Sioux Falls, S.D. More than 3,000 middle school, high school, college and university student/athletes will be competing.
The Howard Wood Relays has experienced phenomenal growth since the first one-day event was held on May 4, 1923. Over the years, it has become one of South Dakota's premier athletic events.
The meet will feature three schools from NCAA Division I and four schools from NCAA Division II.
The Trojans participate in the Howard Wood Relays this weekend to prepare for the DAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships to be held on May 7th in Rapid City, S.D. The meet is very competitive all-around with some of the top runners from the Midwest scheduled to compete.
