Sioux City Relays - Schedule of Events
The Dakota State University outdoor track and field teams will prepare for one of their most competitive meets of the season on Friday and Saturday. The Trojans compete in the Sioux City Relays at the Olsen Stadium in Sioux City, Iowa.
There will be approximately 20 teams attending to the meet. Schools included NCAA Division I South Dakota State and University of South Dakota, NCAA Division II Augustana, Wayne State and University of Mary, and NAIA schools from the DAC (Dakota State, Minot State, Jamestown, Dickinson State and Black Hills State) and GPAC conferences (Morningside, Briar Cliff, University of Sioux Falls, Dakota Wesleyan, Northwestern (IA) and Mount Marty).
The Trojan men's distance and sprint medley relay teams will try to defend their titles, as well as Tyler Van Peursem who took first place honor in the 1500-meter run last season.
Danielle Rowe will attempt to improve from her second place performance from a season ago.
The first event is slated at 12:00 noon with the hammer throw on Friday. The first running event will be the 10,000-meter run (women's and men's combined) at 3:30 p.m. The event will continue through Saturday.
