The Dakota State University baseball team concludes their six-game home stand on Saturday and Sunday at Flynn Field. The Trojans will host Jamestown in both teams' final Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) four-game series. First game is slated to start at 1 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. (noon) on Sunday.
DSU is 3-31 overall record and 1-13 in the Dakota Athletic Conference. The Trojans dropped a pair of non-conference games versus Mount Marty on April 25 (Monday). The Lancers defeated DSU 12-7 and 11-8 in eight innings. Jamestown is 22-10-1 and 10-6 in the conference. The Jimmies split with the DAC's leader Dickinson State on April 28 (Thursday) in Dickinson, N.D. Jamestown won the first game 5-3, but suffered a 21-3 (7 innings) loss in the second game.
Dakota State and Jamestown met six times last season, including two times in the DAC Postseason Tournament. Both teams split their four-game series in Jamestown, N.D. on April 24 and 25, 2010 (Jamestown won the first two games 13-11 and 13-3, while DSU won the last two games of the series 12-8 and 2-0). Dakota State defeated the top-seeded Jamestown 9-2 in the quarterfinals of the DAC Baseball Postseason Tournament on May 8, 2010 in Jamestown. The Jimmies eliminated the Trojans in the loser's out (third place game) 7-5 on May 10.
Chance Hargrove is the lone senior on the Dakota State University baseball team. He will play in DSU's final home games of his collegiate career.
The DAC Baseball Postseason Tournament will be held in Dickinson, N.D. on May 4-6.
