ABERDEEN, S.D. - The Trojan women's and men's indoor track & field teams competed in the Northern State Open Saturday at the Barnett Center. The meet included schools from NCAA Division II and NAIA.
Clarice Bauer captured the women's 3000-meter title. She finished with a time of eleven minutes and 20.29 seconds. Bauer finished seventh in the women's one-mile run with a time of 5:39.62.
Drew Allen finished second in the men's 55-meter hurdles. He finished with a time of 8.14 seconds.
The women's 4 x 400 meter relay team (Claire Beck, Brandi Gau, Stephanie Uher and Karisa Hartje) was third with a time of 4:24.40.
Danielle Rowe placed third in the women's high jump. She cleared the high jump measure of five feet and 3.75 inches. Uher was fourth (4' 11.75").
Brittany Pearson was fourth in the women's weight throw with a measure of 38 feet and nine inches. She placed fifth in the women's shot put with a measure of 33 feet and 11.25 inches.
Andy Quenzer finished fourth in the men's 800-meter run with a time of 2:04.50. Bryan Wolfe was sixth in 2:12.97. Keith Huffman placed seventh in 2:14.66. Michael Hoffman was eighth in 2:20.65.
Stacey Berg placed fifth in the men's long jump with a measure of 21 feet and six inches. He finished eighth in the men's 55-meter dash in 6.88 seconds.
Ben Harrison crossed the finish line in fifth place in the men's 3000-meter run with a time of 10:01.46. John Bintliff was sixth in 10:10.98. Kyle Sanderson placed seventh in 10:33.05.
Jeff Rieger placed sixth in the men's shot put with a measure of 40 feet and 8.75 inches.
Summer Bronson finished sixth in the women's 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.07 seconds.
Gau was sixth in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.59. Beck was seventh in 1:05.50 and Uher eighth with a time of 1:06.81.
Hartje was sixth in the women's 600-meter run in 1:47.14. Sara Schultz placed seventh with a time of 1:56.30.
Andrew Manning placed seventh in the men's one-mile run (4:34.21).
Zach Bakke was eighth in the men's long jump (20' 3.25"). He finished seventh in the men's 200-meter dash in 24.05 seconds.
Lindsay Rook placed eighth in the women's 55-meter dash with a time of 8.02 seconds.
Dakota State will compete in the final tune-up meet before the DAC conference championship meet. The Trojans will compete in the Dordt Invitational on Friday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
