ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Dakota State University men's cross country team ran in a competitive field Saturday morning at the Les Bolstad Golf Course. The Trojans finished 36th as a team with 1040 points in the 28th annual Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota.
Over 450 runners from more than 40 different teams, including schools from NCAA Division II and NAIA, competed in Men's Maroon II 8K men's race. Augustana (S.D.) won the team title with 53 points. Adam Volkert of Pittsburg State (Kan.) claimed the individual title with a time of 25 minutes and 10.5 seconds.
Dakota State takes the week off before returning back to action on Saturday, Oct. 12. The Trojans head to McCook Lake, S.D. to run in the Briar Cliff (Iowa) Invitational. The women's race kicks off at 10 a.m. with the men's race to start at approximately 10:45 a.m.
