MADISON, S.D. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) selected Dakota State (S.D.) as its Libero Player-of-the-Week honor. The ninth edition of the NSAA Volleyball weekly honors were announced Monday. It was Gonzalez's second time that she had received the Libero Player-of-the-Week honor this season.
Gonzalez, 5-foot-3-inch defensive specialist, led the Trojans' defense with a total of 20 digs in two matches played last week. She recorded 10 digs versus the University of Sioux Falls (S.D.) on Oct. 29. She added 10 digs and three service aces in 3-0 home victory over Presentation (S.D.) in the inaugural NSAA Volleyball Conference Postseason Tournament on Nov. 2.
For the week, Gonzalez produced a perfect reception percentage rate (100 percent) in 31 attempts. She recorded a service percentage of .952. She averaged 3.3 digs per set last week.
Gonzalez leads the team with 500 digs this season for the Trojans. She averaged 4.7 digs per set.
Katherine is the daughter of Henry and Gloria Gonalez of Pico Rivera, Calif. She is a junior Exercise Science major at Dakota State University.
Dakota State (9-24 overall record) continues their postseason run in the NSAA Volleyball Conference Tournament's semifinal match on Wednesday evening. The Trojans visit the top-seed in the NSAA – Jamestown (N.D.). First serve from the Hansen Center in Jamestown, N.D. is set for 7 p.m.
