MADISON, S.D. Michael Hoffman of Dakota State (S.D.) was chosen in the final edition of the North Star Athletic Association Men's Cross Country runner-of-the-week honor, announced Tuesday.  It was his fourth time this season that he had received this weekly honor.

Hoffman was named to the NSAA Men's Cross Country runner-of-the-week on Sept. 16, Oct. 15 and Oct. 29.

He captured the individual title in the North Star/Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference qualifying meet on Nov. 9 in Lawrence, Kan. on the campus of Haskell (Kan.).  He posted a time of 27 minutes and 23 seconds in the 8K race that featured 57 runners.  As a result, he qualified for the NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships.

Michael is the son of Tim and Renae Hoffman of Beresford, S.D.  He is a senior Computer Network Security major at Dakota State University.

Hoffman, along with his teammate Michael Carson, will run in the NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 23.  The national meet takes place at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan.  The men's race is slated for 10:30 a.m. (Central Standard Time).
