LAWRENCE, Kan. – Two Dakota State University runners competed in the 58th Annual NAIA Men's Cross Country Saturday morning at Rim Rock Farm. A total of 313 runners raced in the 8-kilometer race.
Senior Michael Hoffman (Beresford, S.D.), a four-time North Star Athletic Association men's cross country runner-of-the-week this season, finished his cross country career with a 152nd place finish. He clocked a time of 26 minutes and 20.51 seconds.
Michael Carson, a freshman from South Sioux City, Neb., ran in his first-ever NAIA national meet. He placed 268th. Carson posted his season-best time of 27 minutes and 41.13 seconds.
Oklahoma City won the team title with 77 points. Eric Avila of Southern Oregon captured the individual title with a time of 24:02.45.
The NAIA Cross Country National Championships ends the Trojan cross country season.
