The Dakota State University Trojan baseball team continues their action on the road this weekend. The Trojans will face Hastings College of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) in a four-game series in Hastings, Neb. The doubleheader starts at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday at the Duncan Field.
Dakota State is searching for their first win of the season. DSU is 0-10 overall record. Hastings is 5-9 overall and defeated Bethany (Kan.) 4-1 in their last game. The Broncos also suffered two losses from fellow Dakota Athletic Conference member Mayville State (7-4 and 7-5).
Chance Hargrove leads the Trojans in batting average and RBIs. He records a batting average of .350 (7 hits) and six RBIs. Ryan Steffensen leads the team in stolen bases with two. Seth Doxey records an ERA of 9.00 and leads the team in strikeouts with three.
As a team, Hastings' batting average is .296 after their first 14 games compared to the Trojans' .228 in DSU's first 10 games.
