MADISON, S.D. – Dakota State University volleyball head coach Amy Veenhof is excited to announce the signing of Hope Juntunen from Hamlin High School.
Juntunen, a 5-foot-11-inch outside hitter, had a stellar high school volleyball career for the Chargers as she surpassed 1,000 kills. She also accumulated 400+ digs, 150+ blocks, and 150+ service aces during her career at Hamlin.
During her senior season, she racked up a total of 416 kills, 471 digs, 47 blocks and 44 aces.
Juntunen was a three-time Most Valuable Player selection for Hamlin. She was named Lake Central All-Conference three times and Northeast All-Conference two times. Juntunen was selected to the All-State Class 'A' Volleyball team. She also received Academic All-State honors for her academic success in the classroom.
Juntunen also lettered in basketball. She was a delegate for Girls' State and attended the Governor's Leadership luncheon.
Hope is the daughter of David and Colleen Juntunen of Bryant, S.D. She plans to major in Biology Education at Dakota State University.
