MADISON, S.D. – Senior Courtney Hamblin of Dakota State University Lady T's basketball team has earned an academic ward for her success in the classrooms.
The CoSIDA (College of Sports Information Directors of America) has selected Hamblin to its Women's Basketball Academic All-District 3 College Division second team, announced Thursday. She was named to this prestigious honor for her third straight year.
To be nominated to the CoSIDA Academic All-District ballot, the student-athlete needs to have at least 3.2 cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale and must be at least sophomore in eligibility. A group of sports information directors from all over the United States vote for the nominees on the ballot.
Hamblin is a Biology major at Dakota State University. During her career at Dakota State through 101 games, she averaged 6.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. She is also a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
Courtney is the daughter of Mike and Helen Hamblin of Rangiora, New Zealand.
Dakota State heads on the road to kick off their three straight games on the roads in North Star Athletic Association conference action. The Lady T's make their first stop at the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse in Valley City, N.D. on Saturday afternoon. DSU plays Valley City State (N.D.) with a tip-off starting at 4 p.m.
