MADISON, S.D. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) has selected Brittany Hill of Dakota State (S.D.) as its Softball Preseason Player-of-the-Year, announced Tuesday. She was also named as the NSAA Softball Preseason All-Conference selection at first base.
Hill enters her junior after being named as the Association of Independent Institutions/Frontier Softball Player-of-the-Year (in 2013) and is a two-time All-Conference selection.
Hill, 2013 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-West Region selection, produced a batting average of .500 last season, which set a new DSU school record for highest batting average in a single season. In 2013, she had 59 hits, 13 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs and produced 39 runs batted in (RBIs).
According to the DakStats-NAIA statistical website as of last year, Hill ranked third in the nation in batting average (.500). She was fourth in hits per game (1.7) and 17th in doubles per game (0.4).
Brittany is the daughter of Rod and Laurie Hill.
