MADISON, S.D. – Sandy Anderson, a long-time Dakota State University employee, is the recipient of this year's Terry Ryan Distinguished Service Award. She will be recognized during halftime of the Trojan men's basketball game versus Valley City State (N.D.) on Saturday evening at DSU Fieldhouse.
Anderson started working at Dakota State in August 1979 in the Business Office. She then began work in the Registrar's office as the assistant Registrar in 1984. She became the Registrar in September 1998, where she presently works.
Anderson, in her role as Registrar, reviews the athlete's eligibility forms before they are sent to the conference and NAIA. In addition, she has contributed to the Lady T's basketball scholarship program. Sandy has also volunteered her time in the concession stand and sold tickets at DSU football and basketball games.
Sandy and her husband Jeff have two children – Mike and Sarah – and four grandchildren – Jordan, Isaac, Max and Marin.
Sandy plans to retire on June 21, 2014 and move to Renner, S.D. to be closer to her family.
