MADISON, S.D. – Local standout from Oldham-Ramona/Rutland high school volleyball team – Kelsie Casanova – has decided to continue her volleyball career as she signed a letter-of-intent to play for Dakota State University.

Casanova, a 5-foot-7-inch outside hitter, amassed a total of 147 kills, 25 blocks, 58 digs and recorded a service percentage of .980 with 36 service aces during her senior season at Oldham-Ramona/Rutland.  She was a two-time All-Conference selection and received the ORR Raiders Most Improved Player award.   

Casanova also lettered in basketball, track, and cheerleading.  She ran a leg in the state track meet in the 4 x 200 (champions in 2010), medley relay (3rd place in 2010), 4 x 100 (champions in 2011) and 4 x 200 (runner-ups in 2011).

Casanova received the John Philip Sousa Band and President's Education awards at Oldham-Ramona High School.  She was also involved with Girls' State.

Kelsie is the daughter of Doug and JoAnn Casanova of Ramona, S.D.  She plans to major in Elementary Education and Special Education.
