GENEVA, Ohio – Seth Boomsma of Dakota State (S.D.) ran in the men's 60-meter national finals for his second straight year on Saturday afternoon on the final day of the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships at the SPIRE Institute.
Boomsma clocked a time of 6.77 seconds in the national men's 60-meter dash finals to earn a runner-up honor. He improved his previous time of 6.82 seconds set in the prelims on Friday afternoon. Dontaey Paige of Indiana Tech won the individual champion with a time of 6.73 seconds.
It was Boomsma's second straight year that he had earned runner-up honor in the NAIA men's 60-meter dash finals, earning NAIA All-American status. He recorded his fourth overall NAIA All-American honor during his career at Dakota State, earning two times in Indoor Track & Field (2013, 2014 - both in men's 60-meter dash) and two times in Outdoor Track & Field (2013 – 100-meter dash and 4 x 100-meter relay).
Dakota State scored eight points in the national meet, finishing tied for 28th overall as a team.
The Trojans return back to action on Saturday, March 15 in the Fremont Half-Marathon in Fremont, Neb. Dakota State kicks off their outdoor track & field season on Saturday, March 29 as they host its own meet – Trojan Invitational. The home meet will be held at the Trojan Field.
