MADISON, S.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) football announced its 2014 schedule on Monday. The 2014 schedule features 11 total games, including five home games at the Trojan Field and six night games.
Dakota State, led by head coach Josh Anderson, opens the 2014 slate at home versus Mayville State (N.D.) in a North Star Athletic Association conference game on Aug. 30. Kick-off from the Trojan Field is set for 6 p.m.
The Trojans hit the road on Sept. 6 for a non-conference tilt at Dordt (Iowa) with the game time starting at 6 p.m.
DSU will then return to Madison for a pair of home NSAA conference games. On Sept. 13, the Trojans host Valley City State (N.D.) at 6 p.m. Dakota State welcomes Presentation (S.D.) on Sept. 20 as part of the annual Trojan Day homecoming game at 4 p.m.
Dakota State heads on the road for a pair of non-conference games with the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The Trojans visit Concordia (Neb.) in Seward, Neb. on Sept. 27 and battle with long-time rival Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) in Mitchell, S.D. on Oct. 4. Both games are scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m.
The Trojans return to the Trojan Field on Oct. 11 for a NSAA conference game versus Jamestown (N.D.) at 1 p.m.
On Oct. 16 (Thursday), Dakota State heads to Vermillion, S.D. to face Briar Cliff (Iowa). The game will be played at the USD DakotaDome, which is where the Chargers play their home football games.
The Trojans return home for their final home game of the season on Oct. 25. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m.
Dakota State wrap-up the regular-season with two straight road games. DSU will visit a pair of newcomers to the North Star Athletic Association conference – Waldorf (Iowa) on Nov. 1 and Dickinson State (N.D.) on Nov. 8.
