MADISON, S.D. – Dakota State University volleyball head coach Amy Veenhof is excited to announce the signing of Brookings High School standout Hannah Stuart. She will join the Trojan Volleyball program this coming 2014-15 academic year.
Stuart, a 5-foot-3 defensive specialist, is a Team Captain for the Bobcats. She earned Brookings All-Register Volleyball team honors and was named to Academic All-State for her success in the classroom. She was selected to Most Valuable Player and Most Inspirational Player for the sophomore team (as a 9th grade) and most valuable player for the junior varsity team (as a 10th grader). She was a representative for the Monogram Club Executive Council during her volleyball high school career at Brookings.
Stuart led Brookings last fall in digs and serve reception. She accumulated a total of 586 digs, 45 service aces, recorded a service percentage of .956 and a serve reception percentage of .914 during her high school career.
Stuart was a six-time varsity scholar-athlete combined in both volleyball and basketball. She was on the Brookings High School Senior Leadership Committee and a member on the National Honor Society.
Stuart was on the Honor Roll all four years in her high school career. She is a recipient for the Dakota State University Merit Champion Scholarship.
Hannah is the daughter of John and Tami Stuart of Brookings, S.D. She plans to major in Elementary Education and Special Education at Dakota State University.
