MADISON, S.D. – Dakota State University men's basketball head coach Gary Garner is excited to announce the addition of Derek Meger.  Meger is a Vermillion Junior College transfer in Ely, Minn. and will be a junior with the Trojan Men's Basketball team this coming fall.

Meger was selected to All-Region 13, All-Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) and All-Northern Division MCAC teams.  He averaged 15.8 points, 11.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game this season for Vermillion.

Meger was named to first-team LSC All-Conference and second-team All-Area during his high school basketball career at Duluth Denfeld Senior High School in Minnesota.  He averaged 18.2 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game in high school.

Derek is the son of Stanley and Lori Meger of Duluth, Minn.  He plans to major in Exercise Science at Dakota State University.
