KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 2014 NAIA Men's Outdoor Track & Field All-Americans have been announced Monday afternoon. The award winners competed at the 63rd annual NAIA National Championships held at Mickey Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Ala. from May 22-24. Honors were given to the top eight individuals from each event and all four runners in the top eight relays.
Michael Hoffman, who made his second national appearance in the NAIA Men's Outdoor Track national meet in marathon, clocked a time of 2 hours, 39 minutes and 57.60 seconds to claim a seventh-place finish. As a result, he earned his first All-American honor at Dakota State University in his last career collegiate meet.
It was the second straight year that Dakota State had an All-American runner in marathon (Nic Penning was second in 2013 at the national meet).
Michael is the son of Tim and Renae Hoffman of Beresford, S.D. He is a senior Computer Network Security major at Dakota State University.
The NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships officially ended the track season.
