MADISON, S.D. – Second-year head coach Anthony Drealan and his Dakota State University cross country teams will kick off their 2014 campaign at home. The Trojans will compete in four regular-season meets, as the 2014 schedule was announced Tuesday.
Dakota State hosts its annual Herb Blakely Invitational on Sept. 13. The women's race begins at 10:30 a.m. with the men's to follow at approximately 11:15 a.m. at the Madison Country Club.
The Trojans will be idle until Saturday, Oct. 4 as they run in the South Dakota State University Classic in Brookings, S.D. Following the SDSU classic, Dakota State travels to McCook Lake, S.D. to compete in the Briar Cliff (Iowa) Invitational.
The final regular-season meet takes place in Yankton, S.D. on Oct. 25 as DSU runs in the Mount Marty (S.D.) Invitational.
After the Mount Marty meet, Dakota State travels to Billings, Mont. to participate in the national qualifying meet on Nov. 7, which feature runners from the Frontier and North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) conference schools.
The 59th Annual Men's and 34th Annual Women's NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships will take place at the Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan. on Nov. 22. It will be the second straight year that the national meet will be held in Lawrence.
