MADISON, S.D. – The Dakota State University volleyball team kicked off their 2014 campaign this week under the guidance of Amy Veenhof, who is entering her sixth season as the head coach.

Nineteen student-athletes had reported to DSU volleyball fall camp.  The Trojans had 12 players that returned back from last year's team.

Dakota State will be holding their volleyball media/picture day on Wednesday (Aug. 13) at 2 p.m.  The media day takes place at the DSU Fieldhouse.

The Trojans open their 2014 season with four matches in the Mount Mercy (Iowa) Tournament in Cedar Rapids on Aug. 22-23, facing Saint Ambrose (Iowa) in the first tournament match on Aug. 22 at 3 p.m.

DSU hosts Morningside (Iowa) in the first home match of the season on Aug. 27 with a junior varsity match at 6 p.m., followed by a varsity match at 7:30 p.m.

Dakota State is in their second year membership with the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) conference.  This year, Dickinson State (N.D.) joins with five other charter members of the NSAA conference including Dakota State, Jamestown (N.D.), Mayville State (N.D.), Presentation (S.D.) and Valley City State (N.D.).
