MADISON, S.D. – The Dakota State University men's basketball team released its 2014-15 schedule on Friday, which included a season opening three-game home stand, along with a trip to the Sioux Falls Arena for an exhibition game.

DSU men's basketball head coach Gary Garner, who will be entering his sixth season, and his team open up the 2014-15 slate with a three-game home stand at DSU Fieldhouse.  The Trojans welcome Waldorf (Iowa) in the season opener on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.  DSU had won the last five season-opening games and held a 21-5 home record in the last two seasons at DSU Fieldhouse.

Dakota State will host long-time rival and Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) foe Dakota Wesleyan on Nov. 1, followed by another GPAC foe Dordt (Iowa) on Nov. 4.

The Trojans take their first road test at Grand View (Iowa) in Des Moines on Nov. 8 before returning home for a match-up with Northwestern (Iowa) of the GPAC on Nov. 12.

DSU will finish the month of November with seven games on the road, starting with Mount Marty (S.D.) on Nov. 15 in Yankton.

The Trojans are scheduled to make at trip to the Sioux Falls Arena for an exhibition game with NCAA Division II and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) foe Augustana on Nov. 19 at 8 p.m.

Dakota State returns back for a regular-season contest at Northwestern (Iowa) on Nov. 22.

DSU plays back-to-back exhibition games against a pair of NSIC foes – at Sioux Falls (S.D.) on Nov. 24 and at Northern State (S.D.) on Nov. 25.

The Trojans compete in the Midland (Neb.) Draemel Classic.  Opponents will be determined on a later date.

Dakota State will play their only home game of the month of December on Dec. 6 versus Bellevue (Neb.), who advanced to NAIA Division II Men's Basketball 'Sweet Sixteen' last season.  The Trojans then travel to Briar Cliff on Dec. 13 and AIB (Iowa) in Des Moines on Dec. 20.

DSU ends their 2014 schedule with a pair of games against members of the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference in the Bellevue Christmas Classic.  The Trojans face another team that advanced to the NAIA Division II 'Sweet Sixteen qualifier last season – Oklahoma Wesleyan – on Dec. 29 and play the host-team Bellevue on Dec. 30.

Dakota State kicks off the 2015 year with a home contest versus Midland (Neb.), who finished as an NAIA Division II Men's Basketball runner-up in March 2014, on Jan. 3.

The Trojans battle with their long-time rival Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) for the second time on Jan. 10 at the Corn Palace and return home on Jan. 12 versus Oglala Lakota (S.D.).

DSU play their final tune-up before the NSAA conference opener on Jan. 17 as they visit Trinity Bible.

The North Star Athletic Association conference (eight conference games) kicks off on Jan. 21 as the Trojans host Presentation (S.D.) at DSU Fieldhouse.  Dakota State heads to Dickinson State (N.D.) on Jan. 24, who officially became member of the NSAA conference on July 1, 2014.

DSU stays on the road on Jan. 28 as they visit Valley City State (N.D.) and returns home on Jan. 31 for a match-up with Mayville State (N.D.).  The first-half of the NSAA conference schedule ends where the Trojans host Jamestown (N.D.) on Feb. 4.

The second-half portion of the NSAA conference schedule starts with a pair of road contests as the Trojans head to Presentation on Feb. 7 and Mayville State on Feb. 11.

DSU welcomes VCSU for a NSAA conference game on Feb. 14 in Madison and travels to Jamestown on Feb. 18.

The Trojans' final regular-season game is slated for Feb. 21 as they host Dickinson State.

The NSAA Men's Basketball Conference Postseason Tournament starts with a pair of quarterfinal games at the highest seeds on Thursday, Feb. 26.  The semifinals take place on Sunday, March 1 at the remaining highest seeds.  The semifinals winners will advance to the NSAA Postseason Tournament Championship game on Tuesday, March 3 at the highest remaining seed.

The NSAA Postseason Tournament Champions will earn an automatic bid to the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Tournament, which will be held at the Keeter Gymnasium hosted by the College of Ozarks in Point Lookout, Mo.  The national tournament takes place from March 11-17, 2015.
