JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) could not overcome the first-half red hot shooting by Jamestown (N.D.) Wednesday evening at the Civic Center in the key North Star Athletic Association Men's Basketball conference match-up.  The Jimmies stormed to a 55-36 halftime lead and rolled past the Trojans 90-72.

Dakota State dipped their overall record to 13-14.  Jamestown (receiving votes in the latest NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 national poll) snapped their two-game losing skid, raising their overall record to 18-8. 

Along with Presentation (S.D.) home victory over Dickinson State (N.D.) Wednesday, three teams (UJ, DaSU and PC) are currently in a tie for first-place with a 6-3 NSAA conference record.

The Trojans grabbed their first lead of the game at 2-0 after a pair of free-throws by Bryant Allen with eighteen minutes and thirty-eight seconds on the clock.

Leading 37-29 with 5:13 left in first, UJ closed the first-half with an 18-7 scoring run to grab a 55-36 intermission lead.

The Jimmies shot a sizzling 20-of-33 from the field in the first-half, including 8-of-10 3-pointers.  The Trojans were held to 39.4 percent shooting in the first twenty minutes (13-of-33) and 4-of-12 from the 3-point line.

DSU could get no closer than 18 points (57-39) after Ian Barse's 3-pointer with 18:49 remaining, securing the victory for the Jimmies.

UJ outscored DSU 37-34 in the second-half.

Adam Hofer led the Trojans with 18 points on his 6-of-11 shooting from the field.  He was 3-of-5 from the 3-point line and 3-of-5 free-throws.  Brendon Boomsma scored 12 points off the bench (5-of-10 field goals).  Allen had nine points.  Miguel Sansavour, Barse and Nathaniel Rauen each scored six points.

Sansavour grabbed four rebounds for Dakota State.  Rauen added three rebounds. 

Cameron Robinson dished out five assists and stole the ball five times for the Trojans.  Hofer had four assists. 

Brequan Tucker had a game-high 26 points for the Jimmies.  He was 10-of-15 from the field and made all four free-throw attempts.  Jake Hagler added 16 points.  Jacob Havron scored 15 points.  Taylor Newton had 11 points.

KeWan Davis grabbed seven rebounds for UJ.  Havron and Newton each had six rebounds. 

Vlad Stoicoviciu and Newton each produced four assists for Jamestown. 

UJ shot 58.2 percent overall from the field, making 32 baskets in 55 attempts.  The Jimmies were 9-of-15 from the 3-point line (60 percent) and 19-of-24 free-throws (79.2 percent).  DSU was 41 percent overall from the field (25-of-61), 8-of-21 from the 3-point arc (38.1 percent) and 12-of-15 free-throws (80 percent).

Jamestown outrebounded the Trojans 42-21 in the game. 

Dakota State returns home Saturday evening for the final regular-season game.  The Trojans host Dickinson State (N.D.) in North Star Athletic Association conference game at DSU Fieldhouse.  Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.  DSU will recognize three seniors – Allen, Robinson and Sansavour – prior to the men's game warm-ups and after the conclusion of the Lady T's seniors recognition.
