NSAA PRESS RELEASE

DICKINSON, N.D. – The North Star Athletic Association announced its postseason baseball awards Monday afternoon following Mayville State's (N.D.) victory over Dickinson State (N.D.) in the conference tournament championship game at Astoria Field.  Jake Harris of Dakota State (S.D.) was named to NSAA Baseball All-Conference First Team at the designated hitter position.

Harris, 5-foot-10 junior from Helena, Mont., led the Trojans in three different categories.  He posted a batting average of .403, slugging percentage of .545 and drove in 37 runs (0.8 RBIs per game) this season for DSU.  He is third overall in the NSAA conference in batting average and ninth in total RBIs. 

In 45 games this season, Harris accumulated 62 hits in 154 at-bats with 13 doubles and smashed three home runs for Dakota State.  He reached on base by a walk 11 times and recorded an on-base percentage of .452.

Jake is the son of Bob and Diana Harris.  He is majoring in Elementary Education at Dakota State University.
