NSAA PRESS RELEASE

MADISON, S.D. – Dakota State (S.D.) received two first-place votes in the 2015 North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Men's Cross Country Coaches' Preseason Poll, the conference office announced Monday.  The Trojans was predicted to finish third in the conference, which was voted by the league's head coaches (coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team).

Dickinson State (N.D.) is the preseason favorite to win the NSAA conference title.  The Blue Hawks had three first-place votes and scored 22 points in the poll.

Viterbo (Wis.) edged Dakota State 19-18 to finish second in the poll.  The V-Hawks had one first-place vote.

The Trojans won their first-ever NSAA Men's Cross Country Conference title last season in Billings, Mont.

Jamestown (N.D.) finished fourth with 14 points, followed by Waldorf (Iowa) fifth with 8 points and Valley City State (N.D.) sixth with 7 points.

Dakota State kicks off their 2015 season on Friday, Sept. 4 as they run in the Augustana (S.D.) Twilight meet in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The Trojans will be hosting two home meets this season at the Madison Country Club – the Herb Blakely Invitational on Sept. 12 and the NSAA conference meet on Nov. 7.
