· Dakota State (S.D.) (5-5 overall record) plays a non-conference game at the Sioux Falls' Sanford Pentagon Wednesday evening versus Northwestern (Iowa) (7-4 overall record).

· Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. on the Heritage Court inside the Pentagon.


· The  Sanford Pentagon is located on 2210 W. Pentagon Place in Sioux Falls, S.D.  Go to Interstate 29 and turn east on Benson Road exit.  It is located an half-mile east of I-29 and Benson Road.

· Ticket prices have been set for the game on Wednesday.  Admission to the game is $6 for adults and $3 for kindergarten through college students. 

· The Sanford Pentagon is an indoor arena located in Sioux Falls and was opened in September 2013.

· The Pentagon has a seating capacity of 3,250 spectators.  It hosts the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League and numerous college basketball games including NCAA Division I and II levels.

· Dakota State (S.D.) will be the visiting team for the non-conference game.  DSU's crowd will be behind the scorer's table and benches on the Heritage Court.


· Dakota State (S.D.) will play a total of five games during the month of December.

· The Trojans lost in the North Star Athletic Association conference season opener on Dec. 4 versus nationally-ranked No. 16 Bellevue (Neb.).

· DSU will play Northwestern (Iowa) twice this month, playing at the Pentagon on Wednesday and in Orange City, Iowa on Dec. 30.

· DSU will be playing two more home games next week, hosting another nationally-ranked team Briar Cliff (Iowa) next Wednesday (Dec. 16).  The Trojans play their final home game of the 2015 season next Saturday (Dec. 19) versus Mount Mercy (Iowa).


· Dakota State (S.D.) could not overcome the nationally-ranked Bellevue's (Neb.) blazing shooting in the first-half in both teams' North Star Athletic Association conference opener at DSU Fieldhouse on Dec. 4.

· The Bruins, who shot 64.5 percent in the first twenty minutes of the game, raced to a 52-21 halftime lead over the Trojans.

· The second-half was a different story where the Trojans outscored the Bruins 31-19, but it was not enough to complete a comeback.

· DSU started the second-half with a fast start by scoring 16 consecutive points after the Bruins recorded the biggest lead of the game to start the second-half.

· During the Trojans' 16-0 scoring outburst, DSU was 6-of-10 from the field—including four consecutive 3-pointers by Ian Barse.  Bellevue missed its eight shots during Dakota State's scoring run.

· The Trojans were led by Adam Hofer with 16 points, followed by Barse with 15 points off the bench.  Justin Folkers also scored 10 points off the bench.

· Kyle Kilgore grabbed 10 rebounds for DSU.  Tanner Heiser had eight points, five assists and five rebounds.


· Dakota State (S.D.) will be playing their fifth opponent from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) this season on Wednesday evening.

· The Trojans are 1-3 record against the GPAC in 2015-16.  Their victory came in DSU's season home opener on Oct. 28, hitting the century mark in 105-63 victory over in-state rival Mount Marty (S.D.).

· DSU will play three more games against members of the GPAC after Wednesday's game.

· The Trojans host Briar Cliff (Iowa) next Wednesday (Dec. 16).  DSU is slated to visit Northwestern (Iowa) for the second meeting of the season on Dec. 30 and Dakota Wesleyan on Jan. 9 at the Corn Palace in Mitchell.


· According to the DakStats-NAIA statistical website as of Monday, the Trojans are in the 'Top 10' for 3-point field goal defense.  DSU allowed its opponents 59 3-pointers in 209 attempts for a percentage of 28.2 percent. 

· The 28.2 3-point field goal percentage defense is the seventh-best in the nation.

· Dakota State (S.D.) is allowing an average of 66.4 points per game, which ranks the Trojans No. 11 in the nation in scoring defense per game.

· DSU is limiting its opponents to 40.6 percent shooting from the field.  The Trojans are No. 23 in the nation in field goal defense percentage.

· Dakota State is averaging 29.4 defensive rebounds per game (ranks No. 27 in the nation).


· Ten different Trojan men's basketball players are shooting 40 percent or better from the field.

· Kyle Kilgore ranks 16th in the nation in field goal percentage (59.2).  He made 58 baskets in 98 attempts for the Trojans.

· Brendon Boomsma drained 19 3-pointers in 41 attempts, ranking him 45th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (46.3 percent).

· As a team, Dakota State is 48.3 percent shooting from the field (23rd best in the nation).  The Trojans converted 318 baskets in 659 attempts through 10 games this season.

· DSU is 38th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (36.7 percent). 


· Points:  Kyle Kilgore—127 points (12.7 points per game)

· Field Goal Percentage:  Derek Meger—60.9 percent (39-of-64 field goals)

· 3-point Field Goal Percentage:  Brendon Boomsma—46.3 percent (19-of-41 3-pointers)

· Free-throw percentage:  Brendon Boomsma—88.9 percent (24-of-27 free-throws)

· Rebounds:  Kyle Kilgore—75 rebounds (7.5 rebounds per game)

· Assists:  Adam Hofer—33 assists (3.3 assists per game)

· Steals:  Adam Hofer—13 steals (1.3 steals per game)

· Blocked shots:  Justin Folkers and Taylor Zirbel—5 blocked shots (0.5 blocks per game)


· Northwestern (Iowa) had won the last three meetings with Dakota State (S.D.), including a season series sweep last season.

· The Red Raiders rallied back for an 84-81 victory over the Trojans at DSU Fieldhouse on Nov. 11, 2014.  NWIA added an 85-64 victory over DSU on Nov. 22, 2014 in Orange City.

· The last time Trojans defeated the Red Raiders was on Nov. 6, 2013 by the score of 78-72 at DSU Fieldhouse in Madison.
