NSAA PRESS RELEASE

MADISON, S.D.Kyle Kilgore of Dakota State (S.D.) was honored by the North Star Athletic Association conference the second straight week as its Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week.  The thirteen edition of the weekly honor was announced Monday by the conference office.

Kilgore – 6-foot-7 forward for the Trojans – produced back-to-back double-doubles as DSU went 2-0 record in a pair of key NSAA conference games.  He scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in 83-68 road victory at Mayville State (N.D.) on Feb. 10.

He followed up with another double-double – his ninth double-double of the season – with 23 points and 11 rebounds as the Trojans upset No. 20-ranked Valley City State (N.D.) 76-72 at DSU Fieldhouse on Feb. 13.

For the week, Kilgore averaged 20.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game for Dakota State.  He was 15-of-25 from the field (60 percent) and 10-of-15 free-throws (66.7 percent).

According to the DakStats-NAIA statistical website as of Monday, Kilgore ranks tenth in the nation in field goal percentage of 59.2 percent for the Trojans.  He also ranks 32nd in defensive rebounds per game (6.0), 35th in total rebounds (217) and 41st in total rebounds per game with an average of 8.0.

Kyle is the son of Eric and Pam Kilgore of Adrian, Minn.  He majors in Physical Education at Dakota State University.

DSU extended their winning streak to four games and recorded their eighth victory in the last ten NSAA conference games.  The Trojans are 14-13 overall record and 8-4 record in the NSAA, one point behind the co-leader Valley City State and Jamestown (N.D.) (10 points) for the NSAA conference regular-season title.

Dakota State closes out their regular-season this week, concluding their three-game home stand at DSU Fieldhouse.  The Trojans host Jamestown on Wednesday as part of 'White-Out' Night to help raise cancer awareness.  Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

DSU wraps up their regular-season on Saturday evening versus Dickinson State (N.D.).  Three seniors will be recognized after the completion of the Lady T's basketball game and prior to the men's basketball warm-ups.
