MADISON, S.D. – Two Dakota State (S.D.) players were selected to the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Men's Basketball All-Conference teams, which was announced at the conclusion of the championship game Monday evening at DSU Fieldhouse.

Dakota State (S.D.) defeated Jamestown (N.D.) 79-65 for back-to-back NSAA postseason title and qualified for the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Tournament for the fourth time in the last five years.

DSU's Kyle Kilgore was selected to the First-Team All-Conference, selected by the conference coaches.  He started in all 32 games this season for the Trojans, averaging 16.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.

Kilgore – 6-foot-7 forward, had produced 13 double-doubles this season, leading the NSAA conference for most double-doubles for DSU.  He also leads the conference in the rebounding category and second in field goal percentage (57.9 percent).

According to the NAIA-DakStats statistical website prior to the championship game, Kilgore ranks 16th in the nation in field goal percentage.  He also ranks 20th in total rebounds (259), 30th in defensive rebounds per game (6.2) and 33th in rebounds per game (8.3).

Kilgore was named to the NSAA Men's Basketball conference player-of-the-week three times this season.

Kyle is the son of Eric and Pam Kilgore of Adrian, Minn.  He is a junior Physical Education major at Dakota State University.

Tanner Heiser - 6-foot guard - was named to NSAA Men's Basketball All-Conference Second Team.  In 30 games played this season, he averaged 10.9 points per game and 4.7 assists per game for the Trojans.

He scored a career-high 25 points during DSU's 79-65 victory over Jamestown (N.D.) in the NSAA conference championship game Monday evening.

Heiser led the team in assists and steals categories.  He stole the ball 47 times this season for DSU, averaging 1.6 steals per game. 

Heiser ranks 28th in the nation in total assists prior to Monday's championship game.  He also ranks 28th in assists per game.  He is 46th in assist/turnover ratio of 2.4.

He produced a total of 60 assists during DSU's current nine-game winning streak (6.7 assists per game), including a career-high 14 assists in 76-72 home victory over Valley City State (N.D.).

Heiser shot 44.8 percent from the field (113-of-252), including 61-of-160 from the 3-point line (38.1 percent) for the Trojans.  He was also 72.2 percent from the free-throw line (39-of-54) and averaged 4.1 rebounds per game.

Tanner is the son of Ron and Pam Heiser of Watertown, S.D.  He is a junior Professional Accountancy at Dakota State University.
