Cross Country - Mon, Oct. 24, 2011

MADISON, S.D. - The Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) has selected Dakota State's Andy Coy as Male Athlete of the Week honor, announced Monday morning.

A junior from Hill City, S.D., Coy clocked in at 25 minutes and 41 seconds to finish second in the 8000-meter race at the Mount Marty Invitational.  He finished one second behind the overall winner from nationally-ranked team as the Trojans collected a fourth-place team finish.

Andy is the son of Rusty and Cindy Coy.  He is studying Biology/Secondary Education at Dakota State University. 

Dakota State will have a week off before they prepare for postseason action.  The Trojans travel to San Marcos, Calif. to compete in the A.I.I. Cross Country Championships.  The women's race starts at 11 a.m. (PT), followed by the men's race at 12 p.m. (PT).
