· The Dakota State University (S.D.) basketball team (12-19, 6-6 North Star Athletic Association conference record) kicks off their second-half portion of the NSAA conference schedule this weekend.

· The Trojans play Dickinson State (N.D.) (17-22, 4-7 NSAA) at Astoria Field (363 15th St. W) in Dickinson, N.D.  The four-game series kick off with a doubleheader on Saturday at 2 p.m. (Central Time)/1 p.m. (Mountain Time).  The series conclude on Sunday afternoon with another doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. (Central Time)/12 p.m. (Mountain Time).  This weekend will be the last Trojans' road conference games of the season.

· Dakota State returns home Tuesday afternoon as they kick off their last 10 of 11 games to be played at the Flynn Field in Madison, S.D.  The Trojans welcome their in-state rival Mount Marty (S.D.) (13-20) in a non-conference doubleheader.  First game is scheduled for 4 p.m.


· Dickinson State (N.D.) will have a live video webcast for the NSAA Baseball four-game series with Dakota State (S.D.).  There is a small fee of $7.95 to view the game.  Go to for more information about the live video webcast.  DiSU will also have live stats/play-by-play available for each game.

· Dakota State (S.D.) will be at home for their final two weeks of regular-season.

· The Trojans play 10 of 11 final regular-season games at Flynn Field, starting on April 19 versus Mount Marty (S.D.).


· After dropping a pair of games at Mount Marty (S.D.) on April 5, Dakota State lost in the NSAA's four-game series opener at Presentation (S.D.) on April 10 in Aberdeen, S.D.

· DSU's Taylor Boerger and PC's Connor Perry battled through a pitcher's duel, as the Saints held on to a 2-0 victory in the opening game of the series.  Both pitchers tossed a complete game.

· The Trojans halted their eight-game losing skid after holding off the Saints 9-7 in the second game of the series on April 10.  Jay Thaler hit an RBI single to score Jake Harris to break the 6-6 tie into a 7-6 lead in the top 4th inning.  Jordan Hofer added a 2-RBI single in the top sixth and held off the Saints in the final inning.

· Both teams traveled south of Aberdeen on April 11, playing at the American Legion Field in Redfield, S.D.  The Trojans swept the Saints in a doubleheader with a pair of two-run victories.

· DSU won the third game of the series after holding off PC's late surge.  The Trojans led 6-5 in the ninth inning and scored four runs, thanks to a 2-RBI double by Tyler Ratkie and an RBI single by Jalen Boyd.   The Saints scored three times in the bottom ninth but Dakota State held on to a 10-8 victory.  DSU had a season-high 16 hits in the game.

· The Trojans jumped to a six-run lead in the series finale before the Saints made a furious comeback late in the game.

· The Saints scored four times in the sixth inning and once in the final inning as DSU earned a 6-5 victory, taking three of four games with Presentation.

· Jamie Jorgensen smashed a 3-run home run in the top third inning for 4-0 DSU lead.

· Seven DSU batters recorded a batting average of .300 or better in the four-game series with Presentation, led by Dylan Colman with .529 batting average (9-of-17).

· Jorgensen, Barker and Brady Wauer each recorded a pitching victory in the series.  Tyler Pruszynski recorded two saves, increasing his saves total to five this season.  Richard Sternberg also earned a save in the series finale.


· Ian Barker hit his third triple of the season in Trojans' 10-8 victory versus Presentation (S.D.) on April 11 in Redfield, S.D.

· Barker recorded a total of six triples during his career at Dakota State since 2014.  He recorded three triples in his junior year.

· Barker tied the DSU Trojan Baseball record book for career triples with six triples.  He tied with two other former Trojan Baseball player.  Danny Flahie had six career triples from 2013 to 2014, while Chaz Palmer had six career triples from 2010 to 2013. 

· According to the DakStats-NAIA statistical website as of Thursday, Barker ranks 38th in the nation in triples per game with .120.

· Tony Poncia also recorded three triples this season for the Trojans.  He is 43rd in the nation in triples per game (.115).


· The Trojans completed their first-half portion of the North Star Athletic Association Baseball conference schedule with a 6-6 record.

· Dakota State (S.D.) is currently in fifth-place in the NSAA conference standings, one game behind Valley City State (N.D.) (7-5 NSAA record) for fourth-place and two games behind third-place Waldorf (Iowa) (8-4 NSAA).

· Jamestown (N.D.) holds a half-game lead over Bellevue (Neb.) for NSAA conference's first-place.  The Jimmies hold a conference record of 11-1, while the Bruins are 10-1 NSAA.

· Six DSU players (Jake Harris, Jacob Arlt, Jordan Hofer, Garrett Mullins, Dylan Colman and Ian Barker) are batting over .300 in NSAA conference play.

· DSU's second-half of the NSAA conference schedule includes a pair of 4-game home series at Flynn Field.


· Hits:  Jake Harris—34 hits

· Batting Average:  Jake Harris—.383 (34-of-89)

· Slugging Percentage:  Ian Barker—.587 (5 doubles, 3 triples, 3 home runs)

· Doubles:  Jake Harris—7 doubles

· Triples:  Ian Barker, Tony Poncia—3 triples (Barker-38th in nation with .120 triples per game and Poncia-43rd-.115 triples per game)

· Home runs:  Ian Barker—3 home runs

· Runs Batted In (RBIs):  Jake Harris—20 RBIs

· Walks:  Jacob Arlt—15 walks

· Hit-by-Pitch:  Tony Poncia—10 hit-by-pitches

· Stolen Bases:  Jordan Hofer—7 stolen bases

· On-base percentage:  Jacob Arlt—.458 on-base percentage

· Earned Run Average (ERA):  Jamie Jorgensen—3.45 ERA (11 earned runs in 28 2/3 innings)

· Pitching Wins:  Taylor Boerger, Jamie Jorgensen—2 wins

· Saves:  Tyler Pruszynski—5 saves

· Innings Pitched:  Taylor Boerger—36 1/3 innings
