NAIA Men's Cross Country National Rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Dakota State University men's cross country team received recognition to the third edition of the NAIA Men's Cross Country national poll, released Wednesday afternoon.

Dakota State received six votes to the national poll.  Two teams from the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) are ranked in the top ten.  British Columbia is ranked No. 4 and Cal State-San Marcos is ranked No. 6.

The Trojans finished 15th in the tough Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 24 in Minneapolis.  DSU was the third highest NAIA team to place in the meet behind No. 13 Concordia (Neb.) and No. 20 Graceland (Iowa), which featured 322 runners from NAIA to NCAA Division II schools.

Dakota State will be idle this weekend.  The Trojans return back to action on Saturday, Oct. 8 as they head to McCook Lake, S.D. to run in the Briar Cliff Invitational.  The women's race starts at 10 a.m. with the men's to follow at 10:45 a.m.

Below is the third edition of the NAIA Men's Cross Country national rankings poll (the top 25 was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences/independents/unaffiliated groups):
