The Dakota State University women's and men's cross country teams will prepare to run in the final DAC Conference Cross Country Championship meet on Friday morning. The meet will be held at Hillcrest Golf Course in Jamestown, N.D., hosted by Jamestown College. The women's race starts at 12 noon with the men's race to follow at approximately 12:45 p.m.
Black Hills State is the defending champions in the DAC women's cross country. The Yellow Jackets had captured all, but one (Minot State-2004) team titles during the DAC conference tenure.
BHSU, No. 9 in the latest NAIA Women's Cross Country national poll, had been ranked first in all DAC's weekly rankings this season. Minot State is second, followed by Jamestown third, Dickinson State fourth and South Dakota School of Mines fifth. Dakota State is sixth and Valley City State is seventh.
On the men's side, Dakota State is the defending champions. The Trojans captured their first ever DAC team title last season in Rapid City, S.D.

The winner of the DAC cross country team title earns an automatic bid to the NAIA Cross Country National Championship meet held in Vancouver, Wash. on Nov. 20. The top five individuals in each meet will also qualify to the NAIA Nationals.
